Hello friends,

We are so excited to let everyone know we'll be posting monthly blogs to keep everyone updated about what’s happening with our farm.

Right now, we have 5 workers who visit the farm to maintain it. Since Cyclone Chido devastated everything at the end of 2024, we have not been able to rebuild any permanent houses. The farm land lies quite a distance from the nearest village or city and doesn’t have any accessible roads yet, so the workers have to hike for a couple of hours to get to work.

The rainy season is ending, so they have just started planting crops, and they also planted a few more trees. Some trees were planted in 2023 and are growing well. Hopefully, they will start producing fruit within a couple of years.

Here are our current workers:

Jorge John manages the farm, receives donations from us, and distributes them; he also pastors a local church. Sometimes they use the farmland to make charcoal and help the church purchase things like chairs. Sometimes the church helps the farm with big tasks like clearing the land, and we send donations to help them a little. Jorge is married to Joana, and they have 4 children.

Rajamo Eusébio is overseeing the projects on the farm, including planting and watering trees and crops. He just started working at the farm, and praise God, we have several sponsors who have stepped up to help him monthly so he can feed his family.

The other workers have been working on our farm for a bit longer. Júlio António is married to Esperança, and they have 2 children. Rafael António and Abrão Tomas are not married.
